Google Wireless Maps

Please find here some sample maps of towns that have been "mapped" to show their access points. At no time was any attempt made to connect to them. You can either right click and save the files for use in Google Earth, or take the URL properties and paste them into Google Maps. We have also made some maps as examples below.

In terms of the colours, this is mentioned in another part of the site but
Green-No security-the wireless router, and all the devices in the home attached to it, are open to attack and probably compromised
Yellow-the wireless router is using a security called WEP, which was "broken" in 2001 and only takes about 5 minutes to break into. This is worse that no security as it leads the home/business user into believing they are secure-they are not.The system needs to be upgraded or changed urgently
Red-a security system called WPA or WPA2-WPA is an upgrade from WEP and is being gradually hacked-not really good enough. The only real secure system is WPA2
